Swan Valley Revisited The original Swan Valley was published almost ten years ago. It has long since been retired, but I couldn't just let it go. So, I revamped it a bit and came up with a newer version. Our sampler is stitched on 40-count Examplar from Lakeside Linens using Needlepoint Silks in 123, 125, 155A, 158, 316, 512, 562, 584, 694, 991. Black Horse Inn Black Horse Inn started out being Black Horse Farm, but thanks to my friend, Sue, I realized the error of my ways. It really doesn't look much like a farm house does it?! Our sampler is worked on 40-count Lentil from Lakeside Linens using Needlepoint Silks in: 245, 316, 524, 662, 693, 695, 854, 867, 874, 901, 902, 952, 975, 991BB, 993. A Virtuous Woman Stocking: Note the verse: A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband. But she that has no same is rottenness in his bones. Gotta love that!! Our stocking is stitched on36-count Pearled Barley from Lakeside Linens using Needlepoint Silks in: 998, 552, 336, 334, 332, 955, 877, 557, 555, 566, 564, 533, 534, 187, 568. Stitches used are cross stitch over two threads of linen, satin stitch, back stitch and straight stitch. Adam & Eve Our sampler was stitched on 35-count Onyx linen from Weeks Dye Works using Needlepoint Silks in: 184A, 223, 358, 471, 524, 643, 692, 695, 764, 861, 913,973. Wild Roses I found an antique sampler fragment in Pennsylvania a couple years ago. It wasn't dated or signed, but it had the same motif repeated 11 1/2 times. I used the same motif in this sampler and repeated it 21 times. Sarah Sedgewick is a name from my imagination. I've included an aphabet chart with this sampler so you can personalize yours. The stitch count is 95 wide by 435 high. Our model was stitched on 40 count Pearled Barley from Lakeside Linens. The following colors of Needlepoint Silk were used: 313, 998, 694, 205, 722, 208, 336, 844, 903. The frame is from Hog River. Chart Price: $12.00

Lady's Garden
I will never forget the sheer torture (fun torture, but torture nevertheless) of stitching the over one portion of this sampler on the black linen! The results were worth it though.
