Frederick

Frederick was named after the town where I was born.  I realize that makes absolutely no sense.  And, actually, I kind of thought Frederick was a cool name and since it was also the name of the town where I was born, I decided to go with it!

Baking & Roasting & Frying & Boiling

This design was inspired by an antique miniature apron believed to be from Australia and made around the turn of the century.  We've made two versions of our apron, one framed and the other on an antique doll.  Complete finishing instructions are included with the chart.

The framed version is stitched on 40-count Lentil from Lakeside Linens using Neeedlepoint Silks in 472, 524, 512, 964, 972, 296, 155A, 673. The gorgeous frame is available from Valley House Primitives.

The doll's version is stitched on 28 count 18th Century Stone from R&R Reproductions using Needlepoint Silks in:  692, 695, 694, 588, 187, 126, 207, 302.

Special thanks to Ginny Westover for sharing this great idea with me, to Jean Hohulin who stitched both models and to Carmen Sutton who was the mastermind who created the actual aprons and wrote the finishing directions.
