ABOUTartCARRIAGE HOUSE SAMPLINGS was created by Kathy Barrick in 1998 under the name Barrick Samplers. Kathy built a collection of over 250 primitive cross stitch and punch needle designs. When she decided to focus on jewelry-making in 2010, Kathy entrusted the company to her sister Marty Barrick. Marty applies the design and illustration skills she acquired during her career as a graphic designer and art director at The Washington Post to counted cross stitch designs. She gets inspiration from history and nature, and spends as much time as possible sketching cross stitch designs and oil painting. Visit martybarrick.com to see her fine art. Kathy returned to her counted cross stitch design roots and continues to make fabulous, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces.
